Robinho's Blog Post 4

in this blog post we were told to write a free post on our thoughts and comments on the book. the book has taken a big turn in chapters 20 to 25. the man we thought was a good guy el patron turned out to be a selfish man who just had matt for his hart. i felt that  this was absolutely terrible. how could he do this to matt after 14 years don’t you think that he would have been a little attached to matt. it also was hard for me to believe that this was not the first time he has done it, no it was his eighth time. it made me reconsider the whole book. from the first time we say El Patron in the book we thought of him as the saviour that saved matt from the evil hands of Rosa. but it turns out he just used him for his organs. but when you think about it there were many hints and clues like when they were celebrating matt's party. or the gift that tam lee gave matt with the book on how opium is bad and the history of his home. or when tam lee was teaching him about climbing mountains and living on his own. it was all a plan to help save him once he needed to escape. it will be really interesting to see how the rest of the book plays out. i wonder if he will make it to maria. it doesn't sound like he is getting along very well with the keeper. but my biggest question is when he does get to maria how do they plan on finding their way to the united states of america and will they be accepted. i look forward to finishing the book now that we know these secrets, what secrets do we have left to uncover?

  1. I believe that you could have delved deeper into your topic. For most of your post you just talked about the events that have happened. After reading through your blog post I noticed that didn't talk about all the way to chapter 25. Instead of making your reader re-live Matts experience you could let the reader re-live the experiences in Matts eyes (i.e. his feelings). Some of your information was also slightly incorrect because he hardly ever seen El Patron, and whenever they see each other, they hardly communicated. Also, what do you mean by clues? Clues for what? With a little bit more detail, this blogpost could be MUCH more powerful and could draw the reader in.

  2. You did not show me that you have a great understanding of the book, you talked about what happened but not fully. I feel that instead of giving this book a summary you should have had more of an opinion. On a side note you need to capitalize after a period. I agree with Robert, what are these clues of? I feel if you put some more time into this and gave it your all you could have had a much better blog post

  3. I agree with you on some of your comments. like how El Patron was like a father-figure to him and a saviour. matt thought that he was so awesome and nice to him but all he was doing to was "fattening him up" for his own use. this t me seems inhumane
